We earn a commission

When you book a departure through a link on this site, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The price you pay is the operator’s price; nothing is added for us. Links to Viator carry a tracking code that tells them the booking came from here.

What we are not

We are not the tour operators, we are not the association of trekking guides that manages the trail, and we are not the Bangli regency tourism office or the Indonesian geological agency that monitors the volcano. We do not run jeeps, employ guides, hold permits or set prices. Bookings, changes and refunds are handled entirely by the operator you book with.

Operators cannot pay for placement

No operator can buy a position on this site, a badge, or a place in the featured three. Ordering is by review volume, rating and how well a departure answers a particular question, and the badges are measurable claims: the best-seller badge goes to the departure carrying the highest review count, the top-rated badge to a five-star departure, and the best-value badge to the cheapest fare.

Prices, star ratings, review counts and inclusions shown here are the operators’ own figures, captured from their live listings on 25 August 2026 and refreshed periodically. They change without notice. Treat every figure on this site as indicative and the operator’s own booking page as authoritative at the moment you pay.

Facts about the volcano

Statements about Mount Batur itself — its height, its eruptions, the caldera, the geopark designation and the current activity level — are drawn from UNESCO’s International Geoscience and Geoparks Programme, the Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the MAGMA Indonesia monitoring service and published statements by the Bangli regency tourism office. Where an operator’s listing and an official source disagree, the official source wins and we say so.
